Greenlight Strategy x studiojeffrey

A look at the brand identity package that I just finished designing for Greenlight Strategy. Based here in Colorado, Greenlight is a new public affairs agency, specializing in “helping land use project move forward”.

The design brief was to keep a simple, relatable and approachable feel to the branding marks. All while inspiring stuck companies to “Go, Go, Go with Greenlight”! The icon is designed to bring about a quick sense of “a trusted partner” who will “flow through the traffic jams” to get your project done.

In the “before and after” above, you can see the design solution is a soft shaped, upper case “G” based on the brand’s typeface, Barlow Semi Condensed. This helps to connect the straight forward wordmark with the icon. The color palette is updated to be a high contrast of dark and light greens.

As this company get's going, stay tuned for new work from Greenlight Strategy, and be sure to check out their new website. Congrats on your new venture, Bill!

Branding Design & Strategy © Tenet Coffee

I recently partnered with a local coffee roaster, here in Colorado. After grinding and tasting some of this coffee, I am hooked on the tenets these beans are made by. And I can’t for you to try. Here’s a taste of the latest work.

I was tasked with designing this brand around two, humble coffee roasters, and businessmen. The name “Tenet” was selected based on market research, competitive analysis, and the brand’s confident voice.

The company is staring small, with select batches of coffee being sold. Therefore, not only was the logo and package a consideration, we thought about many touch points of the brand from the beginning.

Amazon's Audible x Weezer

Thrilled to get the call to design new Weezer, OK Human ads and landing pages. The cover art features work by the incredibly intricate, Swedish illustrator, Mattias Adolfsson.

I happily partnered again with Civic Entertainment Group to create new, storied ads. Each support Audible’s latest release of Weezer’s audio liner notes for the new album. Yes, like the guts of records, cassettes and CD’s we all used to investigate and figure out just what the actual lyric was! Amazon’s Audible is now letting the details be heard.

Once finished, we got the “OK, Human” from the band and brand. Here’s a look at some of the creative and design.

Amazon's Audible x Sundance Film Festival 2021

I’m always happy and honored to work with mega-brands like Amazon. For the past couple of months, I have been designing for their Audible brand with Civic Entertainment Group, based in NYC. Every year, Audible sponsors the Sundance Film Festival in Utah. This year, because of the pandemic, the festival was held online, and most of the experience happened on a desktop or mobile device. Working with this talent was too much fun! Here’s a taste of the campaign’s advertising creative and design.

Return Client

Happy to be partnered again with Civic Entertainment Group, based in New York City. I love working on experiential and environmental graphic design with this talented bunch. It’s a little different this year, with social distancing and all, but we’re working that in.

Six Years! Thank You!

In 2014 I had a decision to make, whether to keep designing professionally or not. I chose to keep going. By putting myself through more schooling, finding some mentors, working really hard, and finding some more clients, I pressed on.

Thank you to everyone who has stood by me, and my decision to do business as studiojeffrey. And a HUGE thanks to all who have taught me along the way, sat down and drawn with me, worked with me as a client, sent referrals my way, bought products I’ve designed, and just plain been nice to me over the years. I don’t take this job, or studio for granted. I love it, I love designing, here’s to six more!

2020 studiojeffrey identity update

Working in this studio brings me great joy and I love designing visual communication. Here’s an update to my own identity system. I felt it was time to incorporate all aspects of my business into one and call it studiojeffrey, all lowercase, all one word. Because it’s not about me, it’s about the produced visuals for the specific, intended audience.

How Logos Became the Most Important Quarter-Inch in Business

"People are literally, physically interacting with those symbols in a way that they never did.”
-Michael Bierut

“Good appearance was a salable commodity.”
-Raymond Loewy

“It’s not the mark, It’s the marketing.”
-Debbie Millman

"Applying interaction-design thinking to identity design results in logos that can be 'highly logical, very stripped down'."
-David Turner

"And in what may be the most surprising development in modern identity design, we’re increasingly learning how to do it ourselves—using the tenets of branding that have been established in professional circles, to create symbols for movements."
-Debbie Millman
