So we don’t forget where we came from, I will be adding “Designer Wisdom” to the site. Leading the way is my favorite designer of all time, Paul Rand. He said, “Design can be art. Design can be aesthetics. Design is so simple, that’s why it is so complicated”.
Thrilled to get the call to design new Weezer, OK Human ads and landing pages. The cover art features work by the incredibly intricate, Swedish illustrator, Mattias Adolfsson.
I happily partnered again with Civic Entertainment Group to create new, storied ads. Each support Audible’s latest release of Weezer’s audio liner notes for the new album. Yes, like the guts of records, cassettes and CD’s we all used to investigate and figure out just what the actual lyric was! Amazon’s Audible is now letting the details be heard.
Once finished, we got the “OK, Human” from the band and brand. Here’s a look at some of the creative and design.
Check out the amazing cover art and process, from sketch to completion, by Mattias Adolfsson.
Finished this Money Tree on canvas as part of a new series of plant paintings I’ve been working on. This technique of using hand cut stencils is really doing it for me. I’ve always been inspired by Matisse’s cut paper and art. I feel like I can finally make art how I see the world. More to come.
Here’s a design I’ve been thinking about and wanted to make for a while. I finally made the graphic and I’m having fun designing apparel and stickers with it. It’s to help extend the brand visuals for Bold Design Co. A business that is based on inclusion, diversity and unity through design. More to come…
Had an idea while washing my hands this morning. Should we print and sell these totes, then donate $ to coronavirus relief? Contact if interested! Have a nice day.
T-Shirts are now available. All proceeds go to fund hearing aids for families in need. Venmo $20 @molly-wachtel. List your name, address and size(s) in the description. All shirts are printed on super soft, heather gray T’s. I love mine!
I’m very happy to announce my contribution to Lumenati’s Rose Show, hosted by JD Pruitt here in Denver, Feburary 15 & 16. RSVP by email to art@lumenati.co before the show to be added to the entry list. Hope to see you there!
Giving it all I've got, making a reality of this brand. This weekend was very productive as I shot, and styled the first photoshoot with Matt Merino for Son of Scorpio. Grateful to have talented, and supportive people around. Thanks again, Matt & Derek!
I am working to launch an online shop, and need to show off the products in a lookbook sort of way. To me, this brand is just as much about the connection in visuals, as the people wearing it on the street.
Here are a couple of shots and outtakes. Shop soon at sonofscorpio.com. Follow on instagram at @sonofscorpio_co
Had a great time designing this 3 color, woven patch for my Son of Scorpio brand. Here's a look at the sportsman snapback. My favorite light weight, mesh back, black hat.
I've been working overtime making a new brand called, Son of Scorpio. Here's a look at some of the first designs. There will be an online shop at sonofscorpio.com soon.
I can't wait to continue designing and leading this brand. I see it as a creative vehicle, an outlet for my fashion and design passions. I'm designing sensible supplies, for people with style. It's from my heart. Follow on instagram @sonofscorpio_co
This is daunting and exciting. I've decided to launch my own trademark called Son of Scorpio. This artist owned brand will be one to supply dry goods and sensibilities to those who resonate with them. Here are some graphics I've been working on.
