New Paintings

I’m working in acrylic and watercolor to define a fresh style for the studio. I just can’t get enough plants. And I’m finding it really fun to cut stencils and apply the paint in a different ways. I think this is going somewhere. More to come!

Six Years! Thank You!

In 2014 I had a decision to make, whether to keep designing professionally or not. I chose to keep going. By putting myself through more schooling, finding some mentors, working really hard, and finding some more clients, I pressed on.

Thank you to everyone who has stood by me, and my decision to do business as studiojeffrey. And a HUGE thanks to all who have taught me along the way, sat down and drawn with me, worked with me as a client, sent referrals my way, bought products I’ve designed, and just plain been nice to me over the years. I don’t take this job, or studio for granted. I love it, I love designing, here’s to six more!

New Client

The contracts are in place and I am now designing for Front Range Biosciences®. They describe themselves as, “a diverse group of biotech researchers, plant scientists and modern farming experts working together to grow the highest performing hemp, coffee and other high-value crops”. Here we grow!

New Spotify Playlist

Going to try something new here. Follow jeffwalters81 for a fresh 1.5 hour mix each month @spotify.

With so much time in the studio, and with it feeling like new beginnings around here because of the continued pandemic, I’m really missing connecting over music in design studios. I’ve put together a playlist of some of the jams that have been on while working. I’ll be sliding a new playlist in there every month.

Shop The Jungle Book Canvas on Wayfair

The Jungle Book book cover design from “recovering the classics” is now on wrapped canvas, and on sale at Wayfair.com.

studiojeffrey_junglebook_wayfair3

I designed and illustrated this book cover for a great campaign from The Creative Action Network. They asked me to recover a classic book that I loved. The Jungle Book was always one of my favorites growing up. I’ve always loved big cats, so it was fun to hide a tiger in the jungle brush for the art. It’s now available in many sizes here, at Wayfair.com.

Burke Builders - Business Cards

It’s a pleasure to wrap up this design, working with Burke Builders based in Boulder, Colorado.

studiojeffrey_burke_1

We began by working on their identity system, but they decided to stick with the existing branding for business reasons. I was then tasked with redesigning their business cards to extend the brand. The result is a clean and clear take using the existing wordmark, plus the powerful color combo, black and red.

Bold Design Co.

A sister company of studiojeffrey, Bold Design Company is a visual communication initiative focused on including those with low vision and blindness. Here are the identity designs to help clarify and begin to bring more awareness to both the design and low vision communities.

bolddesignco_studiojeffrey

If we allow ourselves, as part of our design process, to include low vision individuals and their needs, our client’s communication will be that much more effective and reach a wider intended audience. A better ROI on your company’s investment.

This is only the beginning of my research and I need your help. If you or anyone you know has specific needs regarding low vision or sight issues, I’d love to include it in my research.
